Africa’s richest man and Nigerian-born industrialist and business mogul, Aliko Dangote, (photo: above) has made a Bid for automaker Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited (PAN) – based in the city of Kaduna, Kaduna state in Northern Nigeria . . .
Dangote teamed up with two northern Nigerian states to bid for a majority stake in Peugeot Nigeria a local joint venture with the French automaker, Peugeot of France, which is a French cars brand and part of PSA Peugeot Citroën.

Dangote made a bid for a majority stake in PAN. Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna state, the home state of the automaker, told journalists on Thursday that Dangote is a key member of a consortium that has applied to acquire the majority stake in the company which is currently owned by the Nigerian government’s Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

The consortium is made up of Aliko Dangote, Kaduna and Kebbi states of Nigeria, as well as the Bank of Industry (BoI). “We have submitted bids for the car-maker with Aliko Dangote on board together with BoI, Kebbi and Kaduna State, we are confident our bid will sail through,” said El-Rufai.
